Croft Rallycross '09

So, the other week, me and Ricardo ventured up to the North East of England. Rich was apprehensive as he is not used to people being friendly.

We set off at about 11am and did not get home until about 7pm. The main roads were an absolute nightmare. We drove over the moors which was properly rad, although pretty scary in the pitch black when you're driving them for the first time. But then again, scary just means exciting, so it was excellent.

Croft circuit is about a 20 minute drive from my house, so that was pretty ideal. The roads there aren't too bad either. So Saturday morning, off we went to watch some ridiculous cars fly around a pretty interesting track at silly speeds.

The corner tyres didn't last very long, even in practice!

Camera guy covering the event, for motors TV I think.

Mad Mark, you can't even believe how mad this guy is. He has pink on his car!! Haha, crazy! And if that's not mental enough for you, this guy had bleach, in his hair! Imagine that! Absolute insanity! His car was an ex WRC car, which is cool though.

Here are some pictures of cars that speak for themselves, and that I can't attempt to write witty comments for:

Warning: Motor sport can be AWESOME more like.

Rad RS4 that I assume belonged to a driver or something.

Slicks: Because what a 500bhp insane car really needs on wet mud is no studs or grooves or anything!

Abarth 500 that should have it's own series next year. Pretty cool looking thing.

Heh, nice valves you got there son.

RS200 that belongs to one of the guys there. Properly impressive little thing, and I didn't realise they came standard with a screamer pipe until I saw this one. Awesome!

Here we have a picture of my girlfriend, and by girlfriend I do of course mean, girl I saw and took photos of from really far away without her knowing.

It rained on the sunday. A lot. It was not very much fun.

This guy, he is the best guy. I'm pretty sure he was drunk for the entire weekend. I saw him dance, on multiple occasions. Excellent.

On Monday, we returned to Coventry via Blakey Ridge. The roads are amazing, the views are astonishing and the food is awesome. Describing everything with words beginning with A is pretty great too.

The Lion Inn is just about my favourite pub in the world and if you're even in the area you should pay it a visit. Also if you are reading this and own the Lion Inn, please feel free to contact me with offers of free food and drink for the awesome free ad.

Me and Rich broke some laws, ate some steaks and drank some ale like the true outlaws we are. Here are some pictures:

So yeah, it was a pretty fun weekend and it was depressing as hell to come back to Coventry and never see a tree ever again.

I hope you enjoy the pictures and remember to click them for bigness as usual.

Rich will be adding some videos and stuff in the near future, and can educate you with actual information and facts.
