Croft Videos

So yeah, I'm hugely lazy, been the best part of a month with no video evidence of the Rallycross from oop North. Against t'odds though, I survived the trip, so here are some videos courtesy of the computer geeks behind YouTube.

So, some interesting facts were promised. Well I'm afraid I have none really, I've already spouted gushing admiration and love of rallycross and the cars - so no need to bore you again. You can see for yourself that Volvos are popular with our Scandinavian brethren though.

The mis-matched looking races with modern Evo's against 70s Escorts was a special class for Rally cars, to give the drivers/owners a chance to experience Rallycross without getting smashed into, or completely owned by the regulars in whatever class they happened to fit into.

It rained something mental on Sunday morning, we were soaked through despite taking refuge in pit garages. In the end I decided to give up and just stand on the pit wall watching, until we chilled out in the car for lunch, and Mr Sun came out to rescue our sanity after the break.

Wet conditions made for some good racing though, and more crazy oversteer than you could shake a stick at. Or point a camera at, as it turns out - I seem to be the master of understeer on film.

As usual, these videos are presented in amazing 'notreallyHD' format, with colour balance and image stability from the 1970s.

That's that, then. Maybe more next year, who knows? Basically it depends how lazy I am, which is quite a lot lazy, so time will tell.
